Our latest production line incorporates West River's proprietary BECKHOFF control system, tailored for Industry 4.0. It replaces the conventional setup of over ten distributed PLCs with two high-performance controllers—one dedicated to control and the other for data backup. Its primary advantage lies in its ability to efficiently centralize information processing. In contrast to the PLC control systems predominantly used by manufacturers today, it operates akin to a computer managing multiple machines simultaneously, akin to more than ten Nokia controllers overseeing numerous machines. This refined data feedback and centralized processing capability ensures timely and efficient handling of information from various devices, enhancing the automation control of the production line, minimizing reliance on operator experience, and ensuring flawless operation. Consequently, it reduces losses stemming from human errors and quality defects in cardboard production, resulting in efficient and high-quality cardboard output.

In conjunction with West River's latest fully digital control methodology, this system facilitates temperature, glue, tension, and gap control. The fully digital pressure control scheme has been upgraded with a laser ranging function, enabling precise adjustment of paper and speed according to different production orders. Leveraging a self-learning system, it continuously learns and optimizes through big data models, mitigating quality issues often caused by human judgment in cardboard production. Additionally, the system integrates West River's PMS production management system, enabling precise automation adjustments for various paper types, cardboard grades, corrugated shapes, production speeds, and other scenarios. It manages and generates statistics for different customers and orders, efficiently combining various orders to maximize production efficiency.

The system employs fiber optic data communication in both the wet and dry end sections, as well as in the ring network, effectively preventing interference typically encountered in long production lines using traditional PLC analog communication, even in harsh environments like deserts. It features a regular maintenance function that prompts operators to perform routine maintenance and equipment checks. As big data accumulates, the system can undergo upgrades akin to a Windows update, transitioning smoothly from, for instance, Windows 10 to Windows 11.
